Dynasty Esports signs 5-year exclusive partnership agreement with Malaysia Esports Federation

Dynasty eSports (“Dynasty”) is pleased to announce that it has signed a 5-year exclusive Partnership Agreement with Malaysia eSports Federation (“MESF”) via its Kuala Lumpur based company, Dynasty eSports (M) Sdn Bhd.

Under the terms of the Agreement, Dynasty will provide its ground-breaking eSports Portal Management (“EPM”) Platform to MESF under a managed services arrangement that will provide MESF with effective management and control of the eSports ecosystem within Malaysia

In November 2019, MESF, together with the Malaysian Government’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, publicly launched its ‘Strategic Plan for eSports Development 2020 – 2025’ via a blueprint that has effectively regulated the eSports industry in Malaysia: a world first for a National Federation. Additionally, the Ministry of Finance has allocated RM30 million (US $7 million) in its Annual Budget for investment in the development of eSports in Malaysia – the first ever Annual Budget announcement in Southeast Asia focussed exclusively on the development of eSports.

eSports has become a global phenomenon and has developed from just a casual gaming experience into one of the biggest industries in the world, fast establishing itself as a mainstream entertainment globally. The industry was valued around US$1.1bn in 2019 and is projected to grow to US$1.8bn by the end of 2022.  eSports is growing faster than any other industry in Malaysia and the country has been a key player, both regionally and globally. There are around 20 Million Gamers including 15 Million eSports enthusiasts in Malaysia, who spent almost RM3 Billion on Gaming and eSports in 2019 alone.

Dynasty’s EPM Platform will be fully white-labelled, customised and branded for MESF, and will bring together the main elements of the eSports ecosystem - the players, the organisations, and the tournaments, under one single integrated digital platform, providing a shared national and global view of the entire industry.

Under the Terms of the Partnership Agreement, MESF will actively endorse, promote, and drive all eSports-related traffic in Malaysia to the EPM Platform.

Crucially, and integral to the success of the exclusive Partnership, MESF will also mandate that all domestic eSports Events, Leagues or Tournaments in the country be exclusively hosted on the MESF Platform, as the single destination site for eSports. Tournaments and Leagues attempting to operate outside of the MESF Platform will not be licensed or authorised by MESF.

Dynasty will generate income throughout the term of the Partnership via a matrix of revenue streams including management fees, advertising, sponsorship, exclusive eSports broadcast rights (both nationally and internationally), and other revenue share arrangements with MESF.

Matt Lodge, CEO of Dynasty eSports said: “MESF are a truly progressive and pioneering organisation. They are the very first National Federation in the world to effectively regulate and take control the eSports industry. We have no doubt others will follow their lead. We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with MESF on this extremely exciting nation-building journey. Together we will create a safe and secure environment to grow, elevate and promote grass roots eSports within Malaysia.”

Dato’ Ananth S.Nathan, President of MESF said: “We are proud and excited to partner with Dynasty eSports. It is truly an extraordinary time we live in. Malaysia is showcasing our vibrant and talented eSports community and industry – waking up the Malayan tigers within. MESF has high hopes to propel this initiative as a game-changer, and the start of a long-lasting journey setting more of the nation’s milestones in eSports.”
